The Fingers and Toes have the look

Did you know fashion designers and brides have something in common? A designer starts planning a collection the moment the pencil begins to sketch. The bride, truly begins to plan her wedding the moment the ring is on her finger. You both choose your colors, and create the feel and flow of every detail on that special day in your life. You both realize that the ‘finished’ look is from the top of your head, to the tips of your toes and all will be on display.

A chipped nail, or the wrong color nail varnish, takes away from the overall polished appearance for both the designer and you the bride. Believe me when I say that this may seem like a small detail, but it is a detail that everyone notices.

This year there are several color choices designers choose that will carry beautifully to your wedding day. As we continue to take cues from the runway, your nails on your wedding can carry a pale color or something that add that extra ‘pop’ if you want it.

I'm sure months went into choosing, creating and making sure the colors were exactly as the designers wanted. Head nail tech Pattie Yankee and her team, the ladies of Dashing Diva’s did a marvelous creating the perfect nail look backstage. Likewise, they were on hand to provide manicures/pedicures to models at several shows this season. These are some of my favorite nail fashion choices I'm sure brides can wear now.

At the Jillian Lewis show, she wanted a very light white crème polish for nails and toes. The color is light enough to go from wedding dress to honeymoon without being overpowering and is a great alternative to having a french manicure.

Rosa Cha wanted the models to have uniform, longer nails. So, Pattie and her nail team first applied Kiss’ Express On press-on nails before applying a bold, bright coral polish that’s hot for Spring 2010. The nails popped on the runway!

Gwen StaffaniHow much do we all love L.A.M.B? Did you know that Gwen Stefani always sports a solid white nail? Well, it was a given that if Gwen does, so would her models! For feet, Gwen wanted a bright orange/red mix to give a bold, powerful look for toes. I love this color combination especially for destination brides. It’s always lovely to see well-manicured toes peaking from under the dress. Then again, I love this combination on anyone, anytime of the year.

If you have warm creams or grey in your bridal party, then take your nail cue from the amazingly talented Caroline Seikaly. She picked a very soft crème grey for nails and toes to compliment her collection. With this in mind Pattie created ‘Astor Place’.

What I absolutely adore about Dashing Diva’s nail varnish is that it wore well on every model - no matter their color or complexion. That assures me that it will work well with you too.

If you’re not familiar with Dashing Diva, there are several locations in NYC. I realize that to some, this may seem like a luxury, but this is one you don’t want to skimp on your wedding day. People will be looking at your hands (they want to see the bling) and you would be very unfashionable rockin' un-groomed nails.

Thanks to the ladies at Dashing Diva - they know their stuff. If it’s good enough for the catwalk, it’s good enough for you as you walk down the isle.
